Resolved Question: I'm looking for feedback and advice on my nutrition/workout routine?
I'm working on lowering my body fat %, I'm not estatic about the results I'm getting. I've been working out since March and I've finally lost my first .5% of body fat for the mont of June. I feel like I should be seeing better results with the amount of effort I'm putting into this. I do 4-5 cardio sessions per week and 3-4 strength training sessions. For cardio I've been biking 45-55 minutes a session and about 50 miles per week. My strength training sessions are usually composed of 2 sequences of 3-4 workouts work outs. I do 3 sets of each one. For my diet I do not consume dairy or meat. I do eat fish but rarely though. A usual day for me will be something like this: bfast: steel clip oats, ground flax seed and maple syrup banana coffee lunch: bunch of veggies with edamame or tofu and soy sauce 1/2 or a whole avocado snack: hummus and brown rice toast or sprouted toast dinner: black bean burrito or israeli couscous red quinoa nutritional yeast flakes bunch of veggies post workout I make a spinach, blueberry, hemp/almond milk, pea protein smoothie and I also use BCAA. Please do not tell me I need to eat meat or dairy because I won't even take that into consideration.

Resolved Question: How would I find going vegan? I've been vegetarian for 18 years now.?
What I currently eat (in general)- Beans/pulses/lentils/chick peas etc, vegetables (obviously!), seeds and nuts, grains (inc pasta, couscous etc) of any description, fruit, eggs (free range), cheese (not much though, I eat mostly cottage cheese, I think full fat difficult cheeses should be considered a treat rather than an everyday thing, same as things like cupcakes or a sticky toffee pudding with custard), I have milk in tea and on cereal. Other than that the usual crisps/chocolate/cookies/crap etc (always vegetarian) that we should every eat less of. I eat tofu but only occasionally plain tofu because tbh I just don't like it much, but I do like tofu rosso and the herb marinated ones. Loads of olives and stuff like that. Loads of cereals, especially oats and rye (yum). Yoghurt. What I won't eat- any form of 'fake' meat like vegetarian chicken (I just don't receive that at every- why would you decide to exclude animal products just to eat mock ones instead?? I don't look the logic and it's unnecessary when there are so many 'real' natural foods that I can eat instead. Besides which, I have tried them and they're dry and salty and taste weird) or quorn mince etc. Quinoa- it's just weird and that little tail thing that comes out turns my stomach for some weird reason. Avocado- hate it, just totally hate it. Okra. Aubergine. And, obviously, fish and anything meat or meat-related (gelatine, cochineal etc). I'd have to give up my Saturday morning fried egg sandwich but mushrooms on toast would be fine instead, and change to soya/oat milk in tea and cereal, and switch to plain chocolate rather than milk. I'm not a massive ice-cream fan, I'd rather have sorbet anyway so that would be ok, and clip out cookies and cupcakes etc (unless i could receive vegan ones) but that's no bad thing. What other changes would I need to make? Is there anything that's in a lot of stuff that I've completely missed or wouldn't necessarily think of (I'm thinking of more obscure ingredients or processes, along the lines of isinglass used to clear drinks, that sort of thing, that you wouldn't even think about if you weren't vege or vegan already). Is it best to do it gradually, or should I just change overnight (seems a bit unnecessary to me to drag it out but I could be wrong)? My favourite, favourite meal in the world is a jacket potato with cottage cheese and loads of salad- what could I have as an alternative to that, for example? I don't miss meat at every- I never have done, but sometimes I really want fish but I usually just have some linseed instead (my logic is I'm wanting some omega 3). Do I sound like I'd find it difficult, or would it just be a natural progression from how I eat already? Any other advice about anything related would be great too. Thanks x I also don't wear or buy leather, fur or feathers or products tested on animals.

Resolved Question: Fellow vegans, I need protein help..?
I am a recovering anorexic, and for a while my skin was peeling from lack of protein. Well then I started upping my protein intake quite a bit, and it stoppped for a while. Now every the sudden it seems like it has arrive back a bit. Yesterday I had 102 grams of protein from various sources. And that is becoming an average for me. Is that a pretty good amount? Could it be the sources of it? This is where I usually receive my protein: Rice protein powder (every morning) Tofu (sometimes) Cereal (sometimes) Popcorn (often) Peanut butter (A LOT lately) Oatmeal (pretty often) Rice (every day) Couscous (sometimes) Bread (rarely) Are these a pretty good variety of protein? Yes I realize some do not have much at every; popcorn, but it every adds up right? Are there any suggestions you would have? And yes I know I should look a doctor, but I do not currently have insurance so any advice would be appreciated.. I have thought of that too, I have been binge eating, that is how I am getting so much.. I also eat a lot of fruits and veggies. My average calorie intake lately is 3000. And I also take a vitamin supplement and drink LOTS of water.

Resolved Question: What is the name of this food I tried, which only grows in the high mountains and looks like couscous?
I was on a trip and ate some nice of grain (or at least I think it was) and when it was cooked it looked similar to couscous, except it had little white things in it. I heard the name, it was exotic and I'm pretty sure it had a q in it. I remember the cook told me it would only grow in the high mountains of South America. Maybe it wasn't South America and it was somewhere else, but I think that's what he said. Any ideas?
