Resolved Question: I am eating sooooo much! Worried!!!?

I am 14 weeks pregnant, and I am eating (esp. lunch) like crazy! For breakfast and dinner, I eat just a little more than before. I also eat healthy snacks between meals. For lunch, I am eating almost double the quantity of what I was eating pre-pregnancy. But, I eat mostly healthy stuff, like veggies, couscous with veggies, brown rice/bread, yoghurt, veggie quiche, fruits etc. But, I am worried I may put on a lot of weight (bcoz I have a tendency to do so). I do walk about 1.5 miles a day. Do you also have a voracious appetite? Does it reduce later or does the appetite just increase with time!!!!????? Thanks!

Open Question: Adding egg to a cousous dish?

I'm no cook! That's why I am here asking this question. I buy packages of couscous -- about 5 ounces. THe instructions are to heat the water to a point of boiling (after adding spices and oil). The add the couscous and let it sit in the covered pan for five minutes. I was just wondering how I could add egg so that it turns out like it does in fried rice, which I have never made. Could I simply crack open an egg and drop in the contents into the water right before I stir in the couscous? Would the egg be fully cooked in the five minutes it sits in the hot mixture? WOuld the egg arrive out in big globs or little bits? Any educated guesses?

Resolved Question: Has anyone quit smoking and NOT put on weight?

Just wondering if anyone has succesfully quit smoking and not put on weight and if so how they did it? I am 8th day smokeless but I've already gained 2.5kg (5 pounds)..I am not even substituting food for cigarettes, I think it's just my metabolism...help? Really don’t want to gain any more…What else can I do? Here’s my diet: Breakfast: Tub Natural yoghurt w/ 8-10 almonds Mid-morning: Apple & Soy Latte (tiny) Lunch: Soup (about 150 cals) Mid-afternoon: 10 rice crackers or 1 carrot with Tzatziki or Hummus dip Dinner: Bowl of mixed vegies w/ tofu and cheese or Couscous w/ salmon plus Fri or Sat night: 3 or 4 glasses of red wine I also walk at least 40 mins a day (Note: have an office job & full time uni)

Resolved Question: Looking for a specific Seafood Paella recipe?

I remember seeing (and making) a recipe for "Seafood Paella" (I THINK on Cityline about 14 months ago or so). I wanted to make it again, but couldn't find the recipe on Cityline's site anymore (the "Spanish Paella" or other "Seafood Paella Couscous" recipe currently posted is not the one I made). Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact date the show was taped or which cook made the dish on the show. I've also tried searching the net already for the recipe and emailing Cityline for help, but found none matching the recipe. I was hoping someone knows/has the recipe? I do remember some of the ingredients used (not every), including: - chicken or vegetable stock - frozen peas - bay scallops - oysters - clams - a white wine saffron "tea" (you make for the recipe) - there was NO MEAT used * recipe involved oven and stove-top use I'm looking for the recipe that uses at least these ingredients, NOT any other variations. Sorry, no lobster meat either, it only had the seafood listed over. I don't exactly remember if there were shrimp as well, but every ingredients I've listed were used for sure. And the recipe called for chicken or vegetable stock (recipe said either was fine). No other type of stock, like fish stock, so again, please do not waste your time suggesting recipes that have ingredients that deviate from those listed.

School starts next friday and i decide to start my diet the exact day that the gym opens in school... Would this be satisfactory ?? Breakfast: 1bowl of Multi Grain Cheerios with a cup of Skim Plus 100% Fat Free Milk. A Yoplait 99%Fat Free yogurt on the side with A glass of Oj. Lunch: Some sort of Wrap or Salad from the school cafeteria with no dressing Or Peanut butter and jelly from home on wheat bread. A Bottle of Water to drink, and A fruit from home or school. Dinner: My mom usually cooks dinner so probably some chicken, or steak with rice or couscous... what are some vegetables i should eat, i really hate vegetables in general but some are tolerable.. I plan to be working out every single day of the schoolweek for 1-1.5 hours and drinking protein shakes, taking amino acids and glutamine as well.

Resolved Question: How do i open up to him!? PlZ HELP!!! ?

I'm having a difficult time talking to the guy that I like. It used to be so easy but when we hit 7th grade we just didn't really talk. I really like this guy, like a lot. And he doesn't have that many classes with me this year as much as last but he lives on my pal's road and i look him there every the time, but i just cant open up to him. He seems to be showing that he likes me but I am having the hardest time ever to talk to him. He laughs at the few jokes i make, and we can relate to some music but its sooooo difficult for me, I don't really talk that much, and its even worse now because i just got glassed and now i feel self couscous around him. I REALLY need help.

Making baby Chicken couscous off a recipe that calls for Chicken Stock however the recipe doesn't say i can freeze it so i was thinking of just freezing the chicken and veg then adding the couscous when i need it however if i don't have chicken stock can I substitute it for water? or can couscous be frozen?

Open Question: Do you have a recipe for sirloin tips?

I am have a few people over for dinner that happens to be during Ramadan. I'm make a few dishes, including Saffron couscous, B’stilla, and others that Italian and American. I have a package of frozen sirloin steak tips and I thought maybe I could prepare them in a way that would go with the Saffron Couscous and in away that would make my friends not miss home so much. Does anyone have a steak recipe? Or can I substitute steak for lamb? Thank you for the suggestion. I guess I could use another type of vinegar since I cant use anything with wine in it.

We've never eaten fish before except tuna salad so we don't want something fishy lke that and we were wanting to try Tilapia..what does it taste like? Couscous? what does it taste like? I have a new job, I have to take food with me and the problem is there is no microwave! Voting Question: Am I losing a safe amount of weight?

I had a really terrible diet(fried foods, quick foods mainly) and only really moved while at work ( while in a cafe, picking at food as i went lol). 2 weeks ago I decided to change my diet completely for cereals, whole grains, fishes,chicken, pasta, couscous, lots of fruit and veggys and drinking green tea and plenty of water and still a couple of vodkas (instead of lagers lol) at the weekend lol Also I am now walking to and from work everyday, 5 days a week and stopped picking!!! (which is 1 hour and 30minutes each day) I lost 4 pounds in the first week and 5 pounds in the second week...is this safe? I'm 22... 5 foot 10 inches.. starting weight 14.2stone.. now 13.7??

Resolved Question: my mum copies things i buy and do and eat e.t.c? its really weird?

Resolved Question: i am only 20 but i can't sleep without ambien. help! ?

I am currently 20 years old. i have been taking ambien 10-15mg for little over four years. and just last year my doctor added trazodon on my prescription. i was prescribed 50 mg but i only took a quarter of those because i was experiencing side effect. the sleeping problem has caused me feel really anxious because i have heard it is bad for the liver. I am often feeling sleepy and besides that, i can't even snooze well with the pills sometimes. constantly without snooze has made me very self couscous and have done many things that i am not supposed to. also because of the pills, i am afraid to go out and spend nights with my friends. I know i am addicted to the sleeping pills but i really can't imagine how to receive off it. i have never taken it in ways that i am not supposed to. but it has really caused me to have low self esteem as i often think its supposed to be nature to fall asleep and why have i lost this natural ability. i walked on the road and thinking god people are looking at me with weird eyes, or worrying that they think i am depressed or looking like a zombie. i just want to live normally like a 20 year old girl does. because of taking this pill, i have missed out so many life experiences. i feel so helpless and hopeless...... sometimes i would just stay at home every day without going out because i don't want to scare people away..... i am currently going to college but have rarely gone out to parties partly because i can't have alcohol with the meds. when i go receive the sleeping pills, i always feel like they are judging me since i am so young.... lack of snooze has made me looking so sleepy and i hate it....... mostly i just want to be a healthy person... please help me if you have taken ambien for an extended period of times and have successfully quitted it. I really need to know. thank you so much

breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs, a few strawberries, a handful of grapes snack - an apple, a tiny amount of Kozy hut rice pudding (130 calories) lunch - a fist-sized portion of couscous, a fist sized portion of peas, some turkey and spinach on 1/2 a section of lavash bread (lavash bread is 50 calories for 1/2 a section and 7 carbs) snack - the power of fruit popsicle - made of strawberries, bluberries, mango, banana, grape and nothing else (28 calories), a TLC strawberry whole grain bar (110 calories) dinner - a cup of nonfat vanilla yogurt (180 calories), with a sliced banana, a handful of granola (130 calories), and a handful of almonds (170 calories) mixed in. what do you think? are my meals balanced? am i consuming too many carbs/calories/grams of fat? by the way, i don't drink milk, only soymilk, i don't eat red meat, don't drink sodas, don't eat chocolate, don't eat chips i am not looking for compliments... i don't appreciate anyone saying that...i am trying to lose a few pounds... and i want tips because i don't know everything

I've asked this SAME Q before, LOTS of times except with feta cheese, artichokes, pickled beets, soy milk, prunes, grated cheese, AND i even admited to being thoroughly addicted to Kosher Vanilla Wafers. Voting Question: I got sick while traveling to morroco, any idea what it was?

I have had nausea, diahrea, and headachs for the last week and a half. Over the last few days I have devlepoed icy-like symptoms, sore throut, rhinorhea, sinus presure, sneazing, fatigue and stomach cramps. I have been taking Peptobismol but it doesnt seem to be having any effect on the diahrea. I was in morroco eight days and ate road food and drank what they told me was fresh squezed orange juce. As far as I know I didn't drink any of the tap water, though it could have gotten into my food. I also ate at resruants, chiken and couscous mostly. Symptoms developed three days after my arrival. Except for the new symptoms, the overall intensity of my sickness has stayed the same. prior to this I was living in france for five weeks, then i went to spain for 1 week, then to morroco. I am worried about hepatitus A or B as i have not been vacinated.

breakfast (9 am) - a serving of nonfat vanilla yogurt (organic), with a handful of granola (organic) and a handful of almonds (organic) lunch (11:30 am) - a serving of peas, a whole wheat bun (organic), boca meatless chicken patty (organic) with spinach (organic), with water snacks - (between 1pm and 4pm) - "the power of fruit" popsicle made of ONLY fruit (28 calories, 7 carbs, organic), an apple, and a TLC raspberry graham granola bar (organic) dinner - (8:30 pm, tardy i know, my parents were tardy... im 14) - 2 tiny grilled chicken breasts (both probably the size of a fist) , plus a serving of whole wheat couscous (organic), 3 tiny pickles every i drank today was water i am a female, 5' 1" 118 pounds MEATLESS chicken patty (vegetarian chicken patty)....
